(Gran Sasso Science Institute), a newly inaugurated center in L'Aquila for doctoral and advanced studies in physics, math, computer science and urban sciences . The G.S.S.I. is also financing scholarships for a couple of our current first-year MathMods students.

Here are a few photos from our excursion to Gran Sasso (Saturday 21, 2013).
We hiked on Campo Imperatore, then we had a barbecue at Fonte Vetica (we're sure everybody's gone crazy for arrosticini). Later in the afternoon we stopped in Castel del Monte and after that we headed down to the medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, where we walked on its narrow cobbled streets.
We hope everybody enjoyed the trip as much as we did!
