Pictures from the MathMods excursion we made on June 8, 2013 with our fifth-edition students and our MathMods visiting professor Juan Carlos De los Reyes from Ecuador.
The first part consisted in participating in the Hafen-City-Run, a 4 kilometers run through the new city centre district. It was great fun because the main aim was not to win but to participate and to have fun. Part of the registration fees was given to charity for children whose parents cannot afford a membership in a Hamburg sports club. So the motto of the run every year is "Kids in die Clubs". We started with 25 runners (out of 60 of the University of Hamburg running team), 20 students, 3 professors and 2 children and were part of the enormous group of more than 20.000 runners who started in groups composed of staff members of Hamburg companies every minute from 10 to 6 o'clock. Afterwards in order to relax and to enjoy the brilliant early summer weather we went on a boat trip through the port of Hamburg.
It was wonderful that so many of you participated. What an athletic MathMods group!!! Thank you all for joining us!
